Now,we’relooking for a Transport Clerk to join our team in our Corkdepot. This role will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation along with helping tomaintainour core ethos here are Sysco – keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.

Summary:

The Transport Clerk roleis responsible forliaising across sales, transport, and operation departments on a regular basis, as well as ensuring completion of depot specific administrative duties in link with process and compliance.

Key Accountabilities:

Ensures efficient dispatch of all routes and products to customerson a daily basis

  • Co-ordination of depot activities ensuring the smooth running of depot
  • Ensuring delivery procedures and policies areadhered to at all times
  • Collect all paperwork from drivers and make sure invoices have been separated, signed on all pages and any returns signed and deliver to relevant areas at end of shift
  • Update records of driver paperwork errors
  • Manage incoming and outgoing goods as well as backhaul collections and ensure they are adhered toon a daily basis
  • Collaborate with Operations Supervision and Management and communicate any concernsin a timely manner
  • Coaching and motivating members of the delivery team
  • Analysing the performance of drivers byaccompanyingthem on their routes
  • Ensuring equipment breakdown and repairs are minimised and reported
  • Ensuring that company vehicles are properlymaintained,cleanedand safelyoperatedto reduce accidents and enhance the company brand
  • Ensuring the premises aremaintainedto the highest standards
  • Ensuring Security and Health & Safety Procedures areadhered to at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience within the Food distribution industry isadvantageous
  • Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook,Exceland Word
  • Strong knowledge of the Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph legislation, Work Time Directive etc.) and HACCP guidelines
  • Proven ability to collaborate and motivate a team to deliver the highest standards of service
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with ability to make independent judgements
  • Team player, strongpersonalityand effective communication skills to explain and enforce proper Policies and procedures
  •  Strong organizational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • The ability to analyse and resolve problems effectively and efficiently
